We carry out all types of plasterboarding work, from dot and dab on solid walls through to metal frame and stud partition systems. Dot and dab - bonding plasterboard directly to the wall using adhesive dabs - is the most widely used method on existing brick and block walls.

It's fast, cost-effective, and produces a flat, plumb surface ready for skimming. On newer construction or where insulation is a priority, we fix to metal or timber framing, which also allows services to be run within the wall thickness. For ceilings, we fix British Gypsum plasterboard to joists using appropriate screws and noggins, ensuring sheets are properly supported at all edges.

The quality of a finished plastered wall depends heavily on how well the boards are fixed and jointed. Boards need to be plumb, flat, and correctly spaced at the joints. Where sheets meet, the edges need to be taped and filled before skimming so that the joint doesn't crack through the finish later.

We use the right adhesive quantities for dot and dab - too little and the board can flex; too much and it's difficult to achieve a flat face across multiple sheets. These details are what separate workmanlike boarding from boarding that causes problems further down the line.

We work regularly alongside other trades on extensions, loft conversions, and full house renovations.
